It’s official, our team raised $20,000 for Movember and prostate cancer research and awareness this year. The team, named The Proctologists, is made up of friends, work colleagues and my father, Peter Breikss, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer two weeks ago.

It is amazing that we were able to raise so much money in a short period of time and I am proud of everybody who participated and all of the people that supported us. Our fundraiser last week raised more than $6,000 in one day, and our donors and supporters contributed from far and wide. Thank you very much.

Our ranked #80 in Canada in total money raised with only 30 participants. 250,000 Canadians participated in Movember this year and raised more than $37 million for prostate cancer research. This represents more than one third of the $100 million raised globally for Movember this year. The amount of money raised was equivalent to a dollar raised from every person living in Canada!

It means a lot to me, and my father, to have such a strong community and support behind us.
